NRG Consulting is a wholly-owned, Black Economic Empowered enterprise with significant depth of skill and an impressive track record of successful projects. The company was founded in 1999, and initially focused on system implementation, management and support in the financial sector. A few years later, the company became quite heavily involved in system optimisation and upgrade exercises.

This experience resulted in significant migration experience; both in terms of skill set and tool repositories. It was during this exciting time that the company broke out of the financial sector and collaborated with Belgian-based ORA-600 to develop highly sophisticated migration and recovery tools, which are regularly used to assist South African and Belgian clients.

The valuable experience gained over the past decade of operating within both medium and large dynamic and complex environments has resulted in the company shifting focus to assisting at the highest point of the IT value chain: IT Architecture.

NRG Consulting has guided many organisations through the daunting process of very costly, long-term infrastructure replacement.

Our involvement starts with making the correct choice of platform, and continues through to implementing the solution and realising the anticipated benefits. In other words, we remain accountable for the advice we give and the promises we make! Organisations that have benefitted from our involvement include IBM, Faritec, MTN, Absa and other international companies such as Sunterra and Kenya Airways.

We realised our approach and diligence were gaining recognition in the industry when we were recently appointed solely to oversee the work of other service providers. Our other achievements include successful system migrations in half the time proposed by other service providers, such as the work done at Transnet Rail and Engineering. We also repaired and optimised the national vehicle licensing system (eNatis) once we were engaged, after system launch.

We were also appointed to advise on the system infrastructure replacement project for eNatis shortly there after. We believe in sharing the risk of implementation success with our clients and partners. By paying careful attention to scoping and by drawing on past experiences, we are able to advise clients on likely outcomes and anticipated risks and mitigation.

This has worked well for us, and we have been able to maintain our track record through some really difficult times! We appreciate all the opportunities we have been given to assist some  of South Africa’s finest companies, and believe that we have added value in all the engagements we have undertaken.
